How to Survive Covid-19 – One Cup of Tea at a Time.

I have to admit I never thought I would experience anything like Covid-19. My emotions and thoughts are racing around my head like a crazy ride on a rollercoaster. One minute I am feeling extremely grateful and content to anxiety overload.

To be honest I’m so grateful for where I live with a beautiful linear park across the road and plenty of fresh air with amazing neighbours who are always looking out for each other. I think it has been interesting how people engage with each other during these times. It’s like we need each other more than ever. I think it’s because we really are all in this together. I go out for a walk most days usually along the beach just as the sun is rising. It keeps me grounded.

How have you been feeling? Have you felt like you’ve needed more comfort food? I know I certainly have. I am constantly cooking them and constantly eating.

I certainly have enjoyed drinking pots of tea in my favourite chair – it is a guilt free pleasure. There is something about the whole process that is comforting. From picking out which teapot to which china teacup I’ll use to the incredible smell of loose-leaf tea brewing.

My top organic tea at this time has been the Immunity Boosting tea it is full of everything good for you. Elderberries sweet and full of vitamin C and antioxidants, ginger helping with nausea and immune boosting. The peppermint in the blend is so refreshing and helps with nausea to. Plus, not forgetting the echinacea in it has so many benefits that help assist with colds and flu. All of this together makes for a wonderful comforting drink sweet with a touch of heat from the ginger. Lately I have also been adding some honey (not that it needs to be sweetened) it just seems to add some extra comfort.  What’s also comforting is knowing that while I’m sitting down drinking tea out of my favourite cup, I’m filling my body with loads of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory nutrients. It is perfect for this season.

Stay Safe and remember we are all in this together.

Blessings
